hit insert - move axis - hit insert again
objects have vertex points
3 components in objects
vertex - edges - faces
edge - 2 vertex points joined together
face - more than 2 vertex points
shape is divided into segments = multiple vertex points = more control over how object is manipulated - mesh editing or box modelling
